The prospect of a unified conservative party in Alberta appeared to be significantly closer Friday, but uniting the right still faces major pitfalls as proponents put forward different visions of how it should be done.

In a surprise video statement released Thursday, Wildrose Leader Brian Jean said members of his party want him to pursue unity with the Progressive Conservatives and, if an agreement can be reached, he is prepared to stand down

It isn’t always the polls getting it wrong. Sometimes it’s the journalists.

Here’s a newsflash: The polls in the election that delivered us Donald Trump weren’t the problem. The journalists and commentators who reported on them — they were the problem.

You won’t hear that from most of the media, of course. In fact, these days we hear journalists saying all the time that the polls got it wrong. Implicit in this claim is a rather pathetic pl

Back in December I had an article about the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command or CANSOFCOM purchasing new ultra light combat vehicles (ULCVs).

Polaris Industries of the U.S. has been awarded the contract for the $20 million project to deliver 78 such vehicles.

The vehicles would mainly be used for off-road travel.

After publishing photos of the ULCVs, I started receiving more than a few emails from readers pointing out that the

The use of a military jet for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s two-week family vacation on the Aga Khan’s private island pumped about as much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere as the average emitted per capita in Canada each year.

Trudeau’s use of the Challenger to fly his family and a nanny from Ottawa to Nassau, Bahamas over the New Year holiday and back consumed about 9,100 litres of jet fuel, according to the Department of National Defenc
